Hi ya Donn,

   I'm running OpenSuSE 11.3 on one box and 11.4 on another box, and I
don't see the problem you are having, but I haven't recompiled
everything for about 1 month now.
   The 11.3 has a nvidia card in it, and it is the best performing one,
with the vendor driver. Both have AMD cpu 
   
   I also didn't do anything unusual. From memory I think I install the
prerequisites from the packman and suse repositories.
