My NVidia driver is always the one from NVIDIA and I have no problems.

I don't know if the openSUSE one is built for a specific kernel, never 
tried it for vanilla kernels.
I'm running a 2.6.39-git vanilla kernel and NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-275.09.

I've just updated to the latest git/svn of SimGear and Flightgear, OSG 
was already at the latest.

I also use the distro's openal, freeglut, freealut and plib packages - 
they're fine so there is no need to rebuild from sources from the 
internet which could cause who knows what problems as it then becomes a 
hybrid system and not core openSUSE as it's meant to be.

It's been a very long time since we've had to mess with that stuff.

Everything builds and everything runs. Mission accomplished, very 
simply, no fuss, no bother.
