I guess I should have been clearer.  I saw my FG frame rates go up with OSG3.  
I went from about 22 FPS with OSG-2.10 to about 40 FPS with OSG-3.0 with the 
same aircraft, at the same airport, with the same effects enabled, with the 
same resolution,  with similar weather.  I was able to increase the number of 
shaders in use and still keep my frame rate above 30 FPS.
