Thanks, I am starting to fetch the data now ... but it will probably
take a few days to get it all down here.
The water body data looks interesting. Is there any word/comments on
how well this handles lake and river data? Has anyone commented on how
the SWBD data might compare to VMAP0? Having good water body, river,
and stream data that is calibrated to the underlying terrain data set
would be a huge gift to the world. But if this is all generated from
30/90 meter elevation posts, I suspect that vmap0 might have finer
grained resolution?
I'll try to keep the download and processing of this data moving on my
end as much as possible. My Grandmother became ill about 3 weeks ago
and passed away yesterday evening so I and my family have been devoting
a lot of time to that in the past couple weeks and we will be
concentrating on funeral and family stuff much of this week too. So my
response time will be even less deterministic than usual for the next
week. (Oh and I'm going out of town for a training class the following
week and will be largely offline ...) I guess life never stops to wait
for me to catch up. :-(
Thanks,
Curt.
