Briefly, the plan is: String freeze from this weekend (14/15 Feb). Basically once <http://gna.org/patch/?4936> is in. (Translators: this is a big pile of strings.) Attempt to release 2.5.0-RC1 next weekend (21/22 Feb). Then we enter release candidate cycle <http://www.freeciv.org/wiki/Release#Release_Candidate>. Earliest possible 2.5.0 is 28 Feb. (So technically we could hit advertised February release, but March is more likely.) I think we probably maintain string freeze through this period.
