Upcoming releases: 2.5.1 and 2.4.5

I intend to make a 2.5.1 release sometime in August. Tentatively
thinking string freeze next weekend (8-9), release following weekend
(15-16). Draft release notes are at

I haven't yet scrubbed the open bugs to see whether there are any
high-priority fixes to get in. My window for doing Freeciv stuff extends
through the end of August, so a release can slip up to two weeks before
being postponed.

I'm also inclined to do a final 2.4 release at the same time, 2.4.5, to
collect up the six months or so of bugfixes on that branch, and then
close the branch. This would be a low-effort thing, and it wouldn't take
much to dissuade me from doing it at all. If anyone has a specific use
for such a release, do say.
Since many translators have moved on to S2_5, I'm inclined to say we
should make no further string changes on this branch from now on,
although strings have already changed since 2.4.4.
