I would like to introduce myself!

Hello,

my name is Mathias, I'm from Germany, 54 years old and have been a lover of this game genre since the beginning. I played Civ 1 and Civ 2 intensively, versions 3 and 4 then less, and again a bit more Civ 6. Freeciv I always like to play in parallel when my time allows it (unfortunately too rarely compared to the time of Civ 1...).

I am a German native speaker, speak good to very good English and some French. My professional work includes checking German texts such as advertisements, articles and technical documents (user manuals, product information, etc.). 

I am willing to do an initial translation for the German texts (in the game) for version 3.0, but all this stuff like Github, PO file etc. means nothing to me. So I would need some help at the beginning!

I am on macOS Catalina. Is that a problem?
