I hope to release 3.0.6 on the weekend of Feb 3rd - Feb 5th.
While that would be less than two months from 3.0.5 release:
 - Release on the very first days of February might still make it to Debian
before their Soft Freeze for Bookwork release, and consequently to many
debian derivatives (also those that do not use debian releases as such, but
would need to wait for debian to take freeciv-3.0.6 only after they have
released Bookworm)
 - I've just started to investigate
https://osdn.net/projects/freeciv/ticket/46544, but it might be a nasty
regression in 3.0.5. We would want replacement for 3.0.5 out.

The schedule is quite tight, especially with the plan to release 2.6.8 a
week earlier.

String freeze would start a week before potential release -> 00:00 EET
Friday Jan 27th / 22:00 UTC Thursday Jan 26th.
