Well, primarily because it was originally was at Redhook Brewery's 
Forecaster Brewpub? :-)

Also I'm not that familiar with all the available East-side venues, 
other than Gizmos or Games Plus. And with those we would have to work 
with the owners to use their space. It's one of the limitations of 
Meetup.com. You can add a private residence as a venue, but then it 
becomes available to everybody as a possible venue.

Anyway, there is a poll for possible venue locations as well as a 
bboard message thread for possible locations. And I'm more than willing 
to hand over the reigns of the group to someone who is more 
knowledgeable about available venues on the Eastside.
