TOY TEST RETURNS TO PACIFIC SCIENCE CENTER

Visitors Test-drive Video Games at Unique Arcade, August 8– 21

WHAT: Pacific Science Center presents Toy Test 2005, the exclusive national site for the TODAY show’s annual video game test. From Monday, August 8 through Sunday, August 21, Pacific Science Center visitors get to test-drive the hottest new video games at this one-of-a kind arcade.

This year’s event features the latest games for Microsoft’s Xbox, Nintendo’s GameCube, and Sony’s PlayStation2—some of these games are so new, they won’t be in stores for months! During the test, gamers will play and rate dozens of titles from "terrible" to "most excellent." These scores will be used to pick the TOP TITLES for 2005. Last year, more than 10,000 kids came to Pacific Science Center to help pick the best games of the year.

WHEN: August 8 – 21, 2005 (10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

WHERE: Pacific Science Center is located at 200 Second Ave North (under the arches near the Space Needle).

HOW: Kids must be at least 7 years old to take part in the test. Admission is included with paid admission to Pacific Science Center. Admission costs are $10.00 for adults; $7.00 for kids (3 to 12) and & $8.50 for seniors (65+). Additional admission is required for laser shows and IMAX® films. For more information, please call (206) 443-2001 or visit www.pacsci.org.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Kids must be at least 7 years old to take part in the test. To make the test "family friendly" again this year, the most graphically violent games have been eliminated.

Consumer Specialist Herb Weisbaum will unveil the Toy Test "winners" during a series of reports on NBC’s Today Show the week before Thanksgiving helping parents and grandparents come up with gift ideas at the start of the holiday shopping season.
