Hi everybody, My name is Michael and I work at the Robotics Institute at the University of Valencia (Spain). We've been doing some amazing work with torcs here. Our goal is to develop an urban driving simulator, so I've modified torcs in order to represent crossroads, dead ends, etc. There are two new segment types: crossroad (TR_XRD) and dead end (TR_DED). I've added some extra info to the XML 3D description, modified trackeditor in order to edit these new segments in a visual way, as well as the track.dll module, and the trackgen tool to generate the .ac 3D model with the new XML specification. Where next? Well, I guess we may start editing some collision stuff in torcs race engine, adding traffic lights, and develop a robot capable of navigate trough the new links present in crossroads while respecting traffic rules in order to setup surrounding traffic. A couple of screenshots showing new torcs track editor and the ac3d generated file of a test track are attached to this mail. Of course, we want to release all the source code if anyone is interested.
