Hi,

after a long struggle, I finally managed to install TORCS in a custom
directory on a Linux *server* (Fedora 13). All files appear to be present (
I compared my custom install to standard install on another Linux machine).
However, when I run the executable (located in ~/myTorcsInstall/bin/) I get
the following error:

freeglut (/home/user/myTorcsInstall/lib/torcs/torcs-bin): failed to open
display ''

Interestingly enough, this also happens when I run TORCS in text-only mode
(i.e. ./torcs -T ). I tried re-installing it, but the problem doesn't seem
to go away. I have the following packages installed:

freeglut-2.6.0-5.fc13.x86_64
freeglut-devel-2.6.0-5.fc13.x86_64

Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
