Sounds like a missing library. I'm not 100% sure what's missing, but I
believe you can run apt provides libXrandr and get a list of packages
which might meet your needs. Otherwise just to and apt-cache search
for libXrandr or Xrandr and see what options you have. You might need
to also get the -devel version of the package, in order to get the
header files for compilation.

I'm on Fedora so I can't duplicate exactly...
