I just thought so far about wet surfaces, they are currently not 
supported, but I understand the behaviour and have a reasonable 
simulation model for it.

What properties does driving on ice have, is it just a low friction 
coefficient (you can set this in the surface definition of the xml track 
description), or does a water film build up between the ice and the tire 
when the slip is "burning" enough energy, maybe it is even dependent on 
the outside temperature (e.g. around -5°C there builds a water film but 
with -40°C it stays just solid, does colder ice lead to higher friction, 
...)?

If you want to play with lower friction, e.g. back up wheel-2.xml, then 
go to <section name="asphalt-w2">, look for
<attnum name="friction"           val="1.15"/>
<attnum name="rolling resistance" val="0.0012"/>

and set e.g. the friction to 0.5 or lower and check if that meets your 
desired behaviour. Beware, the robots might fail badly then, but just 
give it a try.
