Thank-you Scheurneus, I had read in forums that I needed to replace 'afxres.h' with 'windows.h', but I did not realise that I could open the torcs.rc file in a standard text editor. Therefore, I finally tried following the instructions for the VS2005 instead. Even though I was using VS2008, these instructions made it work for me, but maybe I should try it your way to see if there is any difference in the performance. On a brighter note, since I got the program to compile correctly and after some fiddling around, I have managed to add the little bit of extra code I needed to record the car's position on the track and speed travelling (along with a few other variables) as a human is controlling the car. Woo hoo!, one step closer to getting this PhD project up and running :) Regards, Stacey.
