There is a new feature called "early retirement" which supposedly
removes old vehicles from the buying menu before they become too
unreliable. This feature is meant to be overridden by
"enginespersist" - but that does not seem to work correctly at the
moment. As is, it is a bit of a pain in the neck for people who keep
plaing and playing the same game forever - as you and I seem to do.
:-)

As I understood Josef and Michael, fixing this bug is on the to do
list.
