I can confirm this. Running TTDX under windows eats about 25% of my CPU time (according to the task manager), no matter what is displayed or how many vehicles are moving around in the windows. Opening train windows of passenger trains do not affect this, no matter how many of them are opened. Opening one(!) window of a freight train (DBsetXL BR194 + Refrigerator wagons) makes TTDX need 100% CPU time, resulting in choppy display. For other freight trains, the problem is similar, but not that drastic. There is clearly something wrong there, I doubt a P4 with more than 2GHz is too slow for this game ;-) Now could somebody please explain to me why this happens? It somewhat spoils my gameplay if I cannot open train windows to my liking without experiencing such display problems. I tested this with several alpha versions and 2.5 beta 1 (all windows version), they all showed the same behaviour. Could this be in any way related to DBSetXL, certain Patch features it uses or something along these lines? I simply cannot believe that the type of wagon of a train matters so much... Complete config and example savegame can be provided. Greets, Uwe -- TTDPatch mailing list.
