3 questions about graphics and one about patch

Hi all! I have finnaly got to use TTDPAtch again.
But I have some problems with new features, especially graphics.

1) how should I in newgrf.cfg file set parametres? I need to activate new combroad to use European Road Set and the first parameter, but  itseems not working (I have written newgrf/combroadw.grf 1,1 or newgrf/combroadw.grf 11, but the first does nothing (I see original roads in Temperate), the second is wrong). How should I write it?
2) Where could I find any TRAM vehicles graphics?
3) Is Total Town Replacement (now v. 2) usable for the new Alpine climate?

and
4) is it relatively safe to make maps? I mean that if I make my map now, there should not be ani problems with it after a year (I mean with newer graphics and version of patch)?
I am afraid, so I have not enabled the swithch with not flooding edges of map
