I do know Traffic Giant. PaxDest will randomly make passengers travel from
specific stops to other stops, dependent of how large the city is and where
the stop is placed etc.

Just as Fabri and Owen say, patches are user-made 'extensions' to OpenTTD,
which are indeed not supported by the Devteam. For the Gonozal Patch Pack,
several patches do change the saveload.cpp file, which automatically makes
it impossible to use your Patched Savegame in the Regular OTTD-version.
Otherwise, Regular OTTD-version savegames are for as far as I know not
supported in the Gonozal Patch Pack, due to several changes in for example
signal handling (YAPP: Yet Another PBS Patch changes that drastically)
