Just for the record... my sense is that there is nobody who is actually 
interested in using this work for instant messaging/presence, even though 
Apex might attract some interest in other application contexts.  I have 
enough things to do that I feel disinclined to spend time and energy on 
work for which I'm not seeing a demand.

I concur with the plan.
