This leaves out the "WORLD" for the two companies seeing if they can agree on something given their extensive experience with their own APIs. If you have a proposal for your own API, you're still welcome to propose it as a draft, and it might be better than whatever the established players come up with. What I'm proposing is that someone start with something concrete, and these two companies already have their own work that might have a lot of good overlap.
