That would get really messy real fast -- eg:

Re:[ok] Something [was Re: something else]

I'd propose instead that MUAs just stop frickin' inserting "Re" and 
"Fwd" into the subject line of emails they send -- have they not heard 
of "In-Reply-To", "References", etc?
