I fall into category 5 (I hope :).  I'm doing my thesis research on 
evaluating filtering systems.  In particular, trying to build a framework 
so we can reduce reliance on 'magic numbers' and perform comparable 
evaluations between filters.  Also looking at (if time permits) possible 
novel attacks against filters.  I plan on getting some sort of research 
summary together posted to this group soon.
