I think we're glossing over an important distinction here --- when you
say "send from anywhere" do you mean "use an arbitrary SMTP server" or
"run an MUA with an arbitrary IP address"?

The latter is what I understand by the term "mobile user".

Most people I know use just one SMTP server.  Some may use two or three
--- in Eudora, multiple "personalities" --- but delegation / include
solves this problem.
