People which think HTTP is a good solution should first understand the
HTTP spec (RFC 2616 and RFC 2817) and then read RFC 3205. Especially as
the email architecture today doesn't use the HTTP protocol. Do people
really think it is a good idea to be dependent on one more protocol,
when we already need SMTP and DNS?
Yes Hadmut, I understand people complained at your early proposals
which were DNS based "because it is so hard to implement a new DNS RR".
I would urge you and others to please ignore such comments until we
have talked with DNS people in the IETF. I, which claim I know more
about DNS than many other protocols, do not agree with most of those
arguments.
