I'm planning a Tufte-style two-dimensional FAQ that shows how one proposal begets criticism begets answer begets next question, in a big tree format, so at least we can point to it and say "the issues you raise have been addressed, but they lead to other issues, and today the debate is focused here, here, and here; they are the open issues, this is where people's assumptions differ." That helps bring newbies up to speed. I'm doing this in Adobe Illustrator, if anyone is familiar with that maybe we can work together.
