There is nothing wrong with using DNS for this purpose and as a matter of fact, the XMPP draft uses a very similar mechanism via DNS. HOWEVER, if you want to store sender's identity in DNS that is a different question. Then, I would agree with Hadmut that DNS was not designed to store information about specific email accounts.
