Ok (look-alike domains), thx, a related term in the domain biz is
"typosquatting" though the motivation is a little different, to catch
someone's typos by registering what are guessed to be common typos
(goggle.com) and, typically, show them an ad though phishing is a
possibility.

There is some overlap.

Remember Verisign's Site Finder? Basically wildcard DNS records for
all of .COM and .NET which pointed at a Verisign site instead of the
usual not found error?

Perhaps a bit of a tangent.
