Hi BMWG, I've tried different ways to make the reviewing job simpler, and yet visible on the mailing list and in the list archive (where attachments are not retained). Reading a text file and marking it up with edits and an easy-to-search string works, but when the file is attached, the input fails to reach the archive, so it isn't searchable, etc. Re-writing the text file so it contains your suggestions (instead of the original text) has the same issue, even if you attach the HTML diff that you can prepare at https://tools.ietf.org/rfcdiff Today, I tried https://tools.ietf.org/rfcdiff with the "Before-after-diff" feature. This will take the original and the re-written text file with your comments/suggestions, and produce a flat text file with the OLD/NEW text comparisons, nicely organized according to section and paragraph number. The result can be pasted into a text e-mail, and the message will appear in the archive. I found that it is sometimes difficult to *find* a small change in a large paragraph, so I added a character flag at the beginning of each line I changed. I see now that you don't need to add the flag for one-line lists. Since you end-up with a text file with changes, you can attach that file and the authors/editors can run the side-by-side diff or other diff, if they prefer another format. I'll send the result of this process shortly. regards, Al bmwg co-chair > -----Original Message----- > From: bmwg [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of MORTON, ALFRED C > (AL) > Sent: Tuesday, September 13, 2016 2:43 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [bmwg] Second WGLC: draft-ietf-bmwg-dcbench-terminology and > methodology > > > BMWG: > > A WG Last Call period for the Internet-Drafts on > Data Center Benchmarking Terminology and Methodology: > > https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-bmwg-dcbench-terminology-05 > https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-bmwg-dcbench-methodology-02 > > will be open from 13 September 2016 through 27 September 2016. > > The first WGLC closed on 8 April 2016 with comments. > > These drafts are continuing the BMWG Last Call Process.
