Dear All, We have uploaded a revised version (-01) of the draft "Benchmarking Methodology for Route Origin Validation (ROV)". This revision addresses the comments received on the mailing list. Thanks to Christian for the valuable comments and suggestions. The main updates are summarized below: 1. IPv4/IPv6 prefix scaling: The draft distinguishes between IPv4 and IPv6 routing tables. It allows testing with mixed tables (e.g., 1M IPv4 and 250K IPv6) or per-AFI scenarios, and requires explicit reporting of the composition. 2. Traffic profile clarification: The draft recommends fixed-size packets and constant-rate traffic (in PPS) for convergence measurements. A 128-byte packet size at Layer 3 is included as one practical example, while allowing other fixed sizes when required by the test setup. 3. Traffic pattern definition: Constant-rate traffic is defined as the baseline for convergence timing. Burst traffic is allowed for stress scenarios and must be reported separately. 4. Address selection rules: When generating one traffic stream per prefix, the destination address is defined to be selected from within the prefix (e.g., first usable address). 5. Resource utilization metrics: The draft now requires reporting of system-level CPU and memory utilization, and, where available, ROV process and BGP/routing process utilization. 6. Consistency across sections: These clarifications have been applied throughout the whole document including the methodology, test procedures, and reporting requirements to ensure consistency.
