Hi:

3 solution can be used:

1. use the format of "1,5,7-300,30001-30100" rather than "010001110001"
2. both types of format are supported but use a field named
portListFormat or use the first octet to define the format.
3. add a field of named portList2 to provide the extension port list,
port 1 and 5 can be defined in the portList using "10001000", meanwhile
the 7-300 and 30001-30100 can be defined in the portList2 field using
"7-300,30001-30100".

Either of above 3 solutions is OK, but I profer the second one.

Good luck.

Subject: [Bridge-mib] [query] Configuring SNMP Mib Object - Portlist

Hi All,

This query is with respect to configuring the Member ports of Vlan.

Currently the standard MIB supports 'Dot1qVlanStaticEgressPorts' for
configuring the set of ports to egress list for a VLAN. Configuring
this, on scaling the number of ports becomes a problem.

For example say,
The number of ports in the system can scale upto a few thousands-say
32k.
To configure the ports 30001-30100 to a VLAN, the user has to specify:
3750 bytes of 00 and then set the bits for the ports from 30001-30100.

Would like to know if there is a way of representing the MIB object
which supports a better user friendly configuration.

NOTE:Q-BRIDGE-MIB attached for your refrence
