Re: Format of an IPv6 address in a snmp trap

I am not aware of a transport mapping for V1 SNMP over IPv6; IPX, OSI etc but not IPv6 so the agent SHOULD have a non-IPv6 address as well as an IPv6 one.

For non-IP (v4) protocols, I understand that the NetworkAddress in the Trap PDU should be set to 
0.0.0.0
although a quick scan of the RFC does not tell me why I think so!

    How should an IPv6 address be represented in the agent-address field of a Version 1 SNMP trap. Also, when a Version 1 trap is converted into a Version 2 trap or the other way around (as explained in the coexistence document), how should the IPv6 address be represented in the trap packet.
