indeed, but you said that the choice of whether to downgrade to LCD
is the sender's choice, which is kind of an odd statement when 
in the vast majority of cases the sender doesn't have any control
over the MTA's decision-making process, and you haven't suggested
a mechanism to do this.

I'm not discussing a different protocol, I'm discussing a characteristic 
of your proposal with respect to a claim that you made about your proposal.
