One note: Use of fax varies from country to country. In Japan, every
business from the corner noodle shop to the major corporations have
"fax maps"  -- an image either on paper or stored in memory that shows the
location of the business relative to major streets, train stations and so
on. This is because of the strange house numbering system they use, and it
is unlikely to change in the near future. I realize that the images could
be transmitted in many other file formats, but I don't see this changing
for the noodle shop unless fax is somehow forced out. On the other hand,
Japan has an impressive record on replacing technologies quickly.
