I know everyone is sick of this issue and
wants it to go away: so am I.

One way to make the issue go away is to move
image/tiff profile S and F to Draft Standard,
and leave image/tiff-fx and its profiles
as Informational. This would remove the
need to deal with the complex and cloudy IPR
issues and implementation status of the
features.

Everything other than profile S is
optional anyway, and subject to negotiation;
there's nothing special about negotiating
to use "image/tiff-fx" vs. any other MIME
type.
