Perhaps it would be useful to clarify this also in draft-ietf-fax-service-v2-05.txt, section 4: OLD A sender SHOULD NOT use TIFF fields and values beyond the minimum subset.... NEW A sender SHOULD NOT use a MIME type other than 'image/tiff' or TIFF fields and values beyond the minimum subset... because otherwise interoperability of the baseline RFC 2305 protocol might be disturbed by this change to the referenced document; the old reference [5] to RFC 2301 only had one MIME type, and so it wasn't previously necessary to say this.
