Reqest to the IESG re I-D posting (FWD: I-D Action: draft-g00se-honk-00.txt

IESG, Secretariat support team, and relevant list moderators,

The conventions about Internet-Drafts are supposed to be that,
except for documents produced by the IETF and associated bodies,
the naming convention is draft-<AuthorName>-<DocumentTitle> and,
more important, that the actual author is identified.  While the
community has often been relaxed about those requirements when
the utility is clear (e.g., with a policy proposal or ISE
submission where the content clearly creates a reason for the
authors to be hidden/private), a draft that is expected to be
treated as a technical submission but provides no author
information (even the email address seems intended to avoid
providing information) is a serious discourtesy to the IETF
participant community and likely violation of the Code of
Conduct.

One might treat it, and tolerate the behavior, as an attempt at
humor, but the draft explicitly denies that possibility.  On the
other hand, if it is an attempt to demonstrate that the IETF has
become dysfunctional, that claim should be repudiated by
responding quickly and efficiently as outlined below.

I also note the possible interaction between this issue and the
recent discussions about AI-generated "Contributions".

Unless we intend to abandon all notions that those trying to
evaluate an I-D are entitled to be able to even minimally
identify the originator, I request that this I-D be taken down
and that any discussions of it on IETF lists be treated as
inappropriate postings.   Should the author ("G00se") choose to
re-post the draft with author identifying information that is at
least plausible for a human name, it could then be considered on
its merits.
