Yeah, with great power comes great getting dragged into people's disputes!

It is pretty sad when important topics that do merit serious discussion are drowned out by interpersonal beefs.  I certainly don't want to be making choices and justifying my choices about redaction to the involved parties, who would likely be in a heightened emotional state.

Also: if somebody has been a knucklehead on the list, leaving it on their permanent record is good for their soul, and will maybe make them more circumspect in future.  One can hope.
