This is good practice, but there are sometimes good reasons why it isn't possible, such as:

- lame corporate email systems that simply aren't suitable for very high mail volumes
- corporate email systems that forcibly append unwanted legal text [1]
- corporate email systems that alter incoming mail in annoying ways [2]
- corporate email systems that auto-delete email after (e.g.) six months
- corporate email spam/phish detection false positives

Also, a corporate email address may be a false flag, if the person is consulting or contracting for another organisation.

[1] e.g. "This electronic message contains information which may be privileged or confidential..."
[2] e.g. inserting "You don't often get email from [email protected]. Learn why this is important"
