Re: Affiliation disclosure in security WGs

Forgive me for jumping in the conversation, but I received it in my inbox
and figured it was an invite. John made an excellent point. We're here for
the betterment of the Internet as a whole. SDLP isn’t trying to advantage a
company, a vendor, a platform, or a business model.

It’s trying to fix a structural weakness in the Internet’s digital object
layer — a weakness that affects *everyone*:

   -

   creators
   -

   distributors
   -

   customers
   -

   researchers
   -

   archivists
   -

   regulators
   -

   and the long‑term health of the Internet itself

SDLP’s whole design philosophy is: *“Digital objects should behave
honestly, consistently, and transparently for the benefit of the entire
ecosystem.”*

That is *exactly* the same spirit as RFC 7154’s “best engineering judgment
for the whole Internet.”
