NomCom 2025 Second Call for Nominations for IETF LLC Board, Director

Dear all,

This is the second and final call for nominations for IETF LLC Board, Director.

On 12 June, it was announced that Shauna Turner had resigned from the IETF Administration LLC Board as of 9 June 2026 [1].

According to Section 3.5 of RFC 8713, the vacancy on the IETF LLC Board of Directors will prompt the selection process for a new candidate by the NomCom and the subsequent appointment by the confirming body, the IESG.  As Shauna's term will be less than one year from completion (see appointment announcement [2]), step 4.B of Section 3.5 will be invoked, whereby the new appointee will serve the remainder of the vacant term plus a standard three-year term.

The vacancy starts a two-week call for nominations for the position of IETF LLC Board Director.

Nominations close on 13 July 2026 (any time zone).

The mid-term selection is still with NomCom 2025–2026, as detailed in Section 3.5 of RFC 8713.

The timelines for the selection and appointment procedure are as follows:
2026-06-29 - Call for nominations
2026-07-13 - Deadline for accepting nominations
2026-07-14 - Nominees slates finalized, call for community feedback
2026-07-15 - (Virtual) interviews commence, deliberations start
2026-07-21 - End of community feedback period
2026-07-22 - Selection sent for confirmation
2026-07-23 to 2026-07-27 - Confirmation with selected candidate, notification of other nominees, announcement
2027-07-27 - Confirmed candidate seated

The timeline is rather tight, with only six weeks after the vacancy is announced.  Also, the confirmation body has two weeks to reject the candidate, otherwise the candidate is assumed to be confirmed.  Thus, the period for confirmation/rejection can run until 6 August.
