Hi Herve & all IDWG mailing list readers,

I=92m writing this mail to insist about the need that IDMEF becomes an RF=
C=20
and to show you the hidden wide usage of IDMEF.

Over the last four years, ExaProtect Technology has developed and sold a=20
Core Security Event Management solution to manage our customers=92=20
information security status. Over a hundred companies in Europe,=20
including Adecco, Noos and the French Ministry of Employment, now use=20
this application.

At the beginning, we chose IDMEF for its flexibility and it was a=20
gamble, but it has paid off: we now have successfully implemented this=20
proposed standard and included interoperability with other related=20
standards (e.g. IODEF). By using these proposed standards, we have=20
created a gateway from over a hundred systems and applications=20
(including OS, Network & Security devices and applications) to the IDMEF=20
world.

Moreover, we are actively involved in several European research projects=20
(DESEREC and others), based upon or dependent on IDMEF. ExaProtect have=20
actively promoted this IDMEF usage and adoption.

For us it=92s very important that IDMEF is quickly ratified as an RFC=20
(either DTD or schema).

Regards.
