Is snippet intended to be immutable? A server figuring out how to best parse an HTML body part and offer up of the most meaningful snippet for a user almost assuredly will result in versioning of the extraction algorithm, thereby leading to the potential for a mutable snippet element. Additionally, a fixed sized snippet seems limiting given the trend of using the 'stretch' gesture on mobile devices to expose an increasing amount of snippet/message while viewing a message listing. - Stuart On 12/5/14 7:25 PM, Michael M Slusarz wrote: > For a 50,000 foot preview of the message content, I have no issue > relying on a server to figure out how to parse the multipart/alternative > message and strip out the HTML tags in order to provide something useful. _______________________________________________ imapext mailing list [email protected] https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/imapext
