Motorola does not agree with the need for a country code. The introduction of a country code has an undesirable cost impact to the MTA in terms of DRAM and flash memory for the code image and to store the additional defaults. Additional complexity would also be required to index multiple tables and keep the associated information in memory. Memory is already at a premium in the MTA and the additional cost and complexity burden that the introduction of a country code would cause is unwarranted. An alternative to pursue would be to use a test server to generate the necessary parameters in configuration files for certification testing. It would also be possible to ask vendors to provide configuration files necessary for certification. Gordon Beacham Digital Core Gateways, BCS Motorola, Inc. 858-404-2335 [email protected]
