During the IETF 114 conference this week, there have been many references
to this EDM project - I recommend reading the About statement

They've developed two documents:

* Long-Term Viability of Protocol Extension Mechanisms
- https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/rfc9170/
- fascinating

* The Harmful Consequences of the Robustness Principle
- https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-iab-protocol-maintenance/
- contradicts the classic principle "be conservative in what you send, and
  liberal in what you accept" and says it's pernicious in the long-term
- great document!
