ANSI’s answer would seem to be wrong. The internet TLD that applies to Sark is not .uk but .gg. Sark is a part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey which has the ISO 3166-1 code GG. Although ISO 3166-2 codes could be devised for Sark (not to mention Alderney, or the small inhabited islands Herm, Jethou, and Lihou), no 3166-2 subdiviasion codes have been assigned to Guernsey. > From: Todd Carpenter <[email protected]> > Date: Wed, Feb 21, 2018 at 4:05 PM > Subject: Fwd: To ISO 3166/MA: No code for Sark > To: [email protected] > Cc: ISOT <[email protected]> > > > Dear Mr. Cowen, > > Thank you for your interest in ISO 3166. No, there is not a ISO 3166-1 country code for the island of Sark. The latest ballot on this topic was in September, 2017, and the motion to assign Sark a country code was rejected by the maintenance committee. Sark is considered part of the UK for the purposes of the ISO 3166-1 standard. > > If you have further questions, I would be happy to speak with you. > > With kindest regards, > > Todd Carpenter > Executive Director, NISO > Chair, ANSI Technical Advisory Group for ISO TC46 / SC9 _______________________________________________ Ietf-languages mailing list [email protected] https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/ietf-languages
