The desire to support multi-master replication was common across ITU/X.500
and IETF/LDAP standards
work.

I think that it would be wise to additionally ask if its possible that
similar work could arise in the future.

I believe that the present wording of the charter covers both the present
and future cases adequately
and doesn't really need change or clarification.

I realize that this doesn't answer your question in a detailed way, but I'm
focusing on whether or not
the charter proposal should change based on comments related to it. In this
case, your comment
(and my expansion of it) are already addressed in current text.

I have a document floating around that goes into this topic in more depth -
will take me a bit
of time to dig it up given the speed with which I had to hand over my laptop
to my former
employer.
