Yes, although I would say that the X.500/LDAP information and service 
models to have have explicit support for MMR.

I believe it is inevitable that there will be some pain associated with 
certain kinds of LDAP extensions (MMR, transactional support, etc.) But 
I think the pain is worth bearing in some cases in order to progress the 
state of the art.
