I'm trying to re-introduce this as it solves the problem of first-hop flooding discussed in the pim wg. I just sent a note to the pim wg on this. Have a look there if interested. I will also ask for a slot to present this in the next pim wg. In this new revision I've added some text on how it might be extended to ASM as well. A few people have submitted drafts for consideration by the pim wg in this area. The problem statement is: draft-dizhou-pim-umf-problem-statement-01 There are also some solution drafts. For a list of all the drafts, see http://tools.ietf.org/wg/pim/ Stig On 3/4/2011 1:15 PM, [email protected] wrote: > A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories. > This draft is a work item of the Multicast& Anycast Group Membership Working Group of the IETF. > > > Title : Multicast Source Notification of Interest Protocol (MSNIP) > Author(s) : B.
