I would say if a router is connected to multiple radios and using DLEP
with each of them, the router should use a separate layer-2 segment
for each of them... different ethernet interfaces, different VLANs on
the same ethernet interface, different (layer-2) tunnels to each of
the radios. Otherwise the layer-2 transparency DLEP/RFC 8175 assumes
is broken.

Even if you use layer-3 (routing) radios together with the Link-ID
extension for DLEP (RFC 8703), you should still connect each of them
with a separate layer-2 segment. Otherwise you might run into a lot of
issues.

So "layer-2 domain" or "layer-2/ethernet segment" seems like the right
phrase for me.

Each address space has many modems and routers which are or can be aware of each other (in a time varying way), and there is no cross-over of visibility between the address spaces.

Is calling this a “DLEP domain” a reasonable and non-colliding use of the term?
